A 19-year-old woman is in a critical condition in a Sydney hospital following a single car accident on Bolong Road just south of the Coolangatta Estate yesterday morning.
Nowra Police said the woman was travelling in a southerly direction on Bolong Road shortly after 9am when her vehicle left the roadway and slammed into a large silky oak tree on the edge of the roadway.
The driver was trapped following the collision for around 30 minutes before being released by emergency services and was transported with serious injuries to Albion Park by road ambulance where she was airlifted to St George Hospital.
Crime Scene Officers attended the scene and investigated the accident.
Bolong Road was closed for more than three hours and traffic diversions were put in place with cars heading north on Bolong Road diverted via Back Forest Road and Coolangatta Road.
