Eels star shows his softer side

CULT figure Fuifui Moimoi was the centre of attention at a rugby league coaching clinic at Francis Ryan Reserve, Sanctuary Point on Wednesday.

The huge 105 kilogram Parramatta rugby league front rower was a hit with all the fans who attended the clinic.

Moimoi, known for his rampaging runs and fierce tackles, proved to be a gentle giant off the field.

He had photos taken with the fans, signed autographs and was even happy to have a cuddle with 12-month-old Sanctuary Point baby Brodie Petrunic.

Moimoi and the rest of the Eels were in the Shoalhaven as part of the National Rugby League’s One Communities Community Carnival and they took part in several events and activities.

The Eels visited several schools to deliver an anti-bullying message and attended a sportsmen’s night at the Nowra Golf Club.

More photos from the clinic will appear in next Wednesday’s Junior Sport Tomorrow’s Champions section.
