Bourbon in man’s shorts on camera

A WORRIGEE man who stole two bottles of bourbon is spending two months in jail.

Warren Wellington, 28, of Lacebark Grove, was absent from court when he was found guilty of shoplifting on January 7, but didn’t challenge the conviction when he appeared via audiovisual link for sentencing on Monday.

Wellington was in Liquorland in Nowra at 1pm on December 18 when he was captured on CCTV putting the bourbon down the front of his shorts.

Police saw him three hours later in a van outside Aldi and followed him.

When he stopped in McGrath Avenue, they found the bottles unopened in the van.

In court Wellington’s sentence also covered breaching bail by failing to appear in court on January 7.
