THE largest tattoo expo in the southern hemisphere will feature creative work from Shoalhaven artists.
Three tattoo artists from 13 Crowns Custom Tattoos in Huskisson will be competing at the event, pitting their artistic talents against some of the world’s best.
Owner of 13 Crowns Grant Stevens said he was looking forward to the event and had entered tattoos in most categories.
“I’ve got two artists who have been doing tattoos for about 15 years and that kind of experience really shows through,” he said.
The expo features events over three days, some for previous work, others for tattoos done on the day.
There are categories including best leg tattoo, best arm, best colour and best black and grey.
“We put the call out for our clients who would like to submit their tattoos for competition and were overwhelmed with the number of people who came forward,” Mr Stevens said.
“We have nominated artwork for lots of categories.”
The expo will be held at the Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park, from March 8 to 10.
The three-day event will see more than 200 of the best Australian and international tattoo artists showcase their skills, including the star of TV’s LA Ink and tattoo legend Corey Miller.
Local artists showcasing at the Expo include Tony Cohen, the tattoo artist for Rose Tattoo front man Angry Anderson.
