Crapp leads Berry to Twenty20 title

BERRY has once again come away from the Kiteley’s Roofing Twenty20 with a win, defeating Bomaderry by 12 runs.

Coming away from six catches in the last round of the two-day games, David Crapp was on fire for the T20 final.

Crapp once again led the way, with his safe hands taking two catches, one wicket and assisting three runouts.

Nowra got off to a bad start by losing the toss, leaving Berry to bat first.

The damp conditions made the batsmen work hard for their runs, with Glenn Brandon (26) and Jeff Dudgeon (23) leading their team to 106 runs at the change of innings. Josh O’Keeffe finished Berry’s innings on a high, hitting the only six of the day on the last ball.

Nowra went into its innings confident. But tight bowling from Berry left the likes of Scott Fagerlund (2) and Jason Bell (20) frustrated.

Nowra got its second wind in the last five overs, with Jordan Matthews (25) and Josh Coulter (15) keeping Nowra in the game and making for a nailbiting finish.

However with wickets falling fast and thick, Nowra was unable to make the 13 runs needed to win the championship.
