Ready To Race: Ten-year-old Dante Hyam with his KTM 85cc motocross machine
Young local junior motor cross racer Dante Hyam is preparing himself for a busy year of competition.
Last season’s Nowra District Motorcycle Club junior champion kicks off a hectic season of racing this weekend when he competes at the opening round of the prestigious East Coast MX Series at Appin.
The gruelling seven round series will hold rounds in Appin, Canberra, Maitland, and Wollongong, before heading to Hyam’s home track at Nowra for round five in July.
The last two rounds of the series will be held at Lake Macquarie, and Oakdale.
Add to this the seven round Nowra District Motorcycle Club motocross series and the state and national junior motocross titles, and you can understand why this speedy 10-year-old and his father Cheney have already blocked out 32 weekends of their 2013 calendar.
