ORGANISERS of the Australia Day breakfast have secured the X Factor band Fortunate to appear at Nowra Showground on Saturday.
The free Australia Day event gets under way from 8am and runs until noon.
Co-ordinator Lisa Jackson was excited about securing the band for the day.
“It’s a bit of a coup for the area; getting someone like that to Nowra was pretty hard work,” she said.
“They will be playing throughout the day and they do a really good mix of everything.
“All activities on the day are free, as is entrance. You just need to buy breakfast.
“We run the event in conjunction with council. The idea is anyone can come and enjoy it and they don’t have to spend anything,” she said.
Other attractions will include a display by Shoalhaven Zoo, Track Masters – the country’s largest slot car racing circuit, market stalls, jumping castles, water slides and giveaways.
The Australia Day awards ceremony and citizenship ceremony will also be held during the event.
