Temporary Centrelink office to help out

THE Department of Human Services has announced that Centrelink staff will be stationed at Sussex Inlet until Friday, January 25 in response to the Deans Gap bushfire.

Gilmore MP Joanna Gash said Centrelink staff would be stationed at the Sussex Inlet Neighbourhood Centre in Jacobs Drive to assist the more than 1000 Centrelink clients who live in Sussex Inlet and the surrounding region.

The centre will be manned from 9am to 2pm.

“I sincerely thank the department for its quick response to our community's bushfire disaster,” Mrs Gash said.

The establishment of the temporary Centrelink office comes after urgent representations to the Minister for Human Services by Mrs Gash last week.
