NOWRA police have called for assistance from the public after a suspicious fire in a shed at Bolong left one man in intensive care in Shoalhaven Hospital.
Nowra police said two men aged 56 and 59, who reside on a property in Hannigans Lane, Bolong, saw smoke coming from the rear of a large shed on their property at around 3pm on Monday.
The two men ran to the shed and tried to extinguish the blaze before NSW Fire and Rescue crews arrived.
The fire was brought under control but the 59-year-old man suffered serious smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by paramedics and later transported to Shoalhaven Hospital and admitted to intensive care.
He was reported to be in a serious but stable condition.
Detectives investigating the incident have received information that just prior to the fire starting, a man described as being aged in his 50s and obese was seen walking from the area.
