THE South Coast fires have become international news.
Shoalhaven hockey star Alex Mackay, who is has just completed a gap year overseas and is currently a sports tutor at Sherborne School in Dorset, posted on Facebook that he had just watched news in the UK which included coverage of the local outbreak in southern Shoalhaven.
“Just watched the news in the UK and they reported from the South Coast of NSW concerning the bushfires, NOT GOOD!” he posted.
“It has also appeared on BBC news.”
A photo gallery from the Australian bushfires, including some from the Shoalhaven blaze, also appeared on the BBC News website.
