Courtesy bus in collision

A NUMBER of people were taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a club courtesy bus Sunday morning.

At about 12.30am, the St Georges Basin Country Club courtesy bus was dropping off five patrons in Sanctuary Point.

According to the police report, as the bus approached the intersection of Clifton and Frederick streets a VW Polo, driven by a 17-year-old Sanctuary Point woman drove through the stop sign and collided with the bus.

The bus rolled onto its side and slid along the roadway coming to a stop after impacting with a power pole.

The collision caused one male passenger to be ejected from the bus.

All drivers and passengers were assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and three people were taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment.

All were discharged from hospital later in the morning.

The driver of the VW Polo was fined.
