THE fire that started Monday afternoon near Deans Gap Road continues to burn west of the Princes Highway at Wandandian and south of Sussex Inlet Road.
About 180 personnel are on the fire ground, with 29 tankers and other support vehicles. The fire has burnt out about 8500 hectares.
Due to the continued fire threat to NSW all walking tracks in the national parks are now closed until midnight Sunday and police have requested that hikers heed the instructions in relation to these closures.
In the Shoalhaven the fire danger level is severe and a total fire ban is in place throughout NSW on Friday and Saturday.
The RFS is continuing to monitor the situation and will be ready to conduct community meetings in areas at risk if and when the need arises.
As a precaution, Blackbutt Road will be closed to traffic between Bendalong Road and Old Berrara Road - there is no fire impacting this road or the community.
Wandean and Twelve Mile roads are also closed.
If you are travelling in and around the Shoalhaven area this weekend stay informed by listening to your local radio station or by visiting either the RFS website or RMS website Live Traffic NSW.
