FORGET the beach. If you want to catch an eyeful of some fit bodies on Sunday and some serious triathlon action, River Road on the Shoalhaven River is the place.
Nowra will be a hive of activity as the area’s fittest athletes compete in Elite Energy's third TriNowra triathlon festival.
Around 800 athletes will take part in the event, which includes Olympic, sprint and enticer distance races.
Local professional triathlete Ollie Whistler will not be back to defend last year’s title, but locals Mitchell Brown and Matt Lewis will be up for the challenge in the Olympic distance triathlon.
They will go and head-to-head against professional athletes David Mainwearing from Wollongong and Michael Fox from Cronulla.
The day kicks off at 7am with the Olympic event, which will involve a 1.5 kilometre swim, 40 kilometre bike ride and 10 kilometre run.
The sprint will see competitors in a 750- metre swim, 20-kilometre bike ride and five-kilometre run, while the Enticer still holds a challenge with a 300-metre swim, eight-kilometre bike ride and two- kilometre run (or walk).
There will also be a junior series.
