Last Sunday 15 cyclists, including two visitors from Pedal Power, Canberra enjoyed a pleasant and varied scenic circuit ride from Huskisson to Tomerong, St Georges Basin, Sanctuary Point and Vincentia.
The day was sunny and hot, but being by the coast, the riders were accompanied by a cooling sea breeze.
The pace was slow and steady, allowing for sociable chatter along the way, with plenty of rest stops for directions and swigs of water.
John, our trusty leader, kept the group in check with the help of a whistle and Nigel brought up the rear.
At Vincentia, the riders sat and relaxed under shading umbrellas, whilst consuming bakery delights with coffee or cooling drinks.
An hour soon passed, then it was time to continue on via the panoramic cycle path back to Huskisson.
After the ride, five cyclists met for a refreshing dip at Plantation Point, where the sea temperature was a warm 20 plus degrees. It was a perfect finish to a great active day.
This Thursday’s midweek latte ride on January 10 will start from the Falls Creek Fire Station at 8.30am.
