ROUND one of the South Coast District Bowls Association State Fours was held at Huskisson last Saturday with the following results.
Scott Mathieson (Lake Conjola) defeated Geoff Wudy (Greenwell Point) 27-18. Clive Robertson (Lake Conjola) defeated Robin Reid (St Georges Basin) 24-16. Peter Bobrige (Huskisson) defeated Dave Elliott (Bomaderry) 24-12 and George Clarke (Nowra) defeated Jim Hibbert (Culburra) 16-15 with his last bowl.
Round two of the SCDBA State Fours was held on Sunday at Bomaderry and Nowra. Scott Mathieson (Lake Conjola) defeated Clive Robinson (Lake Conjola) 17-16. Peter Bobrige (Huskisson) defeated George Clarke (Nowra) 20-15.
Terry Hayes (Berry) defeated Jack Howarth (Huskisson) 26-17. John Clayton (Milton Ulladulla) defeated Steve Barnes (Greenwell Point) 28-5.
Ron Long (St Georges Basin) was defeated by John Rudd (Culburra) 25-7. Eric Bell (Milton Ulladulla) defeated Darrel Gapes (Greenwell Point) 24-17.
Neil Robinson (Bomaderry) defeated Jamie Thelander (St Georges Basin) 24-11, and Mark Hobill (Nowra) defeated Jamie Freeman (Lake Conjola) 24-12.
That Sunday afternoon saw round three of the SCDBA State Fours. Scott Mathieson (Lake Conjola) was defeated by Peter Bobrige (Huskisson) 22-21 on an extra end. John Clayton (Milton Ulladulla) defeated Terry Hayes (Berry) 21-20 on an extra end. Neil Robinson (Bomaderry) was defeated by Mark Hobill (Nowra) 20-15, and Eric Bell (Milton Ulladulla) defeated John Rudd (Culburra) 21-20.
The semi-final will be played this Sunday, January 13 at Nowra Bowling Club with the cards being called at 9.05am. Game one will see Jono Wright, Peter Deigan, Dave Caldwell and Peter Bobrige (Huskisson) taking on Ron Webster, Steve Heath, John Colusso and John Clayton (Milton Ulladulla). Game two will be between G Carriage, Chris Pennisi, Nick King and Eric Bell (Milton Ulladulla), and William Toohey, Peter Flanagan, Tim Flinn and Mark Hobill (Nowra).
The final will be played that afternoon with the cards being called at 1.05pm.
