THE proposed Foxground and Berry bypass moves another step closer today with suitably prequalified contractors interested in carrying out the detailed design and construction work invited to register their interest.
The Foxground and Berry bypass is the middle third of the Princes Highway upgrade between Gerringong and Bomaderry.
Once planning approval is provided Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will consider the registrations and a shortlist of companies will be invited to submit further detailed tenders.
The shortlist of tenderers is expected to be announced by mid 2013.
The proposed Foxground and Berry bypass will provide a four-lane highway, two lanes in each direction, with median separation for 11.6 kilometres of the Princes Highway between Toolijooa Road and Schofields Lane.
The upgrade will include a bypass of the winding highway alignment at Foxground and a bypass of Berry with access ramps at the north and south of town.
