Sydney’s Mark Brown called on all his speed, courage, aggression and skill to successfully defend his Australian Speedcar Grand Prix title last night at Nowra speedway.
Brown chalked up his fourth Speedcar GP title with a forceful display of driving that saw him move to the front of the pack early in the final before a caution period allowed a fast charging Adam Wallis to close the gap and take the lead on the restart.Wallis looked to have the race under control until a final caution period, with just a handful of laps to run, re-attached Brown to his tail.
From the green flag Brown searched for a gap and when Wallis left the door slightly open heading into turn one, Brown stuck in his nose and forced his way past with a gutsy, wheel banging move.
Wallis had no reply to Brown’s late race speed and the number 9 car quickly pulled a three length gap to lead to the chequered flag.
