Shoalhaven Campus graduation

GRADUATION day was a proud one for the 121 students who had degrees bestowed on them in a ceremony at the University of Wollongong Shoalhaven Campus recently.

Making up the numbers were four indigenous students: Lesli Kirwan who was awarded a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction; April Rose Jones and Natasha Courtney Larter who both received their Bachelor of Arts degrees and Ashley Galea who received a Bachelor of Nursing.

All proudly wore red, black and gold scarves as they received their degrees.

“There were more than three per cent Aboriginal graduates,” said head of campus Robbie Collins.

“We are going to see that happening more and more, it’s a total good news story.”

Ms Collins was also impressed by the 28 students graduating with distinction.

“The high result profile suggests education is very sound at UOW Shoalhaven,” she said.

• Graduation photos and a full list of graduates appear on pages 7, 8, 12 and 14.
