BABY Dominic Cassar was a week overdue, but his delayed arrival made him Shoalhaven’s first-born baby for 2013.
And it was all about the boys as Dominic was closely followed into the world by Fionn Byrne.
Baby Dominic was born in Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital at 10.35pm on January 1 and weighed 3920g.
He is the first child for Jacky Gavranic and Bryce Cassar of Huskisson.
“He was due on Christmas Eve so he’s a bit late. It has been a long week,” Ms Gavranic said.
Dominic’s proud grandparents are Vesna Zupan and Jim Gavranic from Sanctuary point and Lionel and Nicole Cassar from Woollamia.
Almost one hour after Dominic’s birth Fionn Byrne entered the world.
Proud parents are Edel Lawlor and Phil Byrne from Shoalhaven Heads.
Baby Fionn weighed 3350g (seven lb 12oz), and was named after an Irish warrior.
He is the first child for his parents and the fifth grandchild for Tom and Ann Lawlor of Dublin, Ireland.
Baby Fionn’s other grandparents are Patrick and Bernadette Byrne from County Wicklow, Ireland.
Fionn was due on December 21.
“I think he wanted to wait until the new year,” his mother said.
