MRTeam drivers Ryan and Reece Marchello made their NSW Motor Race Championship debut at Eastern Creek earlier this year, and after some recent modifications to their cars, the team believes they will perform strongly this weekend.
The team has modified the suspension on their cars, which will allow them to set the cars to suit different raceways and also run better tyres.
“In our first event at Eastern Creek we found ourselves a bit behind the eight ball. Aside from lack of circuit practice, we were not able to run the best Yokahama O5O tyres that other teams were racing, which definitely cost us a few seconds,” MRTeam leader Terry Marchello said.
“In round two we used up the last of the old tyres and still managed to improve our performance. Since then, we have upgraded to an adjustable suspension which will shave off those few critical split seconds each time they corner and will move both cars further up the pack,” Marchello said.
With the MRTeam being somewhat short of practice, the team is focusing on improving gradually at each event.
“The lack of practice days between race meetings means that we must view each heat of the championship event as a practice session, making the necessary adjustment to cars and driving strategy with each race, and improving each time,” Marchello said.
MRTeam is also improving off the track, with the team to exhibit their cars at the Business Marketplace 2012 at the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach on Wednesday, June 13.
MRTeam is looking forward to the opportunity to showcase their team and the race cars to a wide range of businesses from across the region.
