In fact, the hotel was only one violent incident away from being subjected to a wide range of restrictions on the way it serves alcohol.
The list of the state’s most violent hotels, based on data compiled by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, was released this week by the Minister for Hospitality, George Souris, in NSW Parliament.
It revealed there were 10 venues on level-one restrictions, applying to places that had 19 or more violent incidents in 12 months.
The Postman’s Tavern was listed as having 18 incidents, taking it to the top of level two which still brought its own level of restrictions,
Also on level two was the Bridge Tavern, which was listed as having 12 violent incidents during the 12 months.
Venues on level two are required to stop serving alcohol 30 minutes before closing, not use glass or breakable containers after midnight, and provide alcohol time-outs or free water and food for 10 minutes every hour after midnight.
The restrictions are being enforced from December 1.
According to the list, the most violent venues in NSW are the Mean Fiddler in Rouse Hill and the Penrith Panthers, which both recorded 28 violent incidents in the previous year.
