Hancock’s letter to the editor (May 18) regarding the site of the proposed super clinic in Nowra, we want to reassure Shoalhaven residents that Illawarra Shoalhaven Medicare Local is working, together with the health authorities, endeavouring to locate the new super clinic within the Shoalhaven Hospital grounds, adjacent to the Cancer Care Centre. |

Plenty of scope to improve Nowra

23 May 12 | I WAS a member of the council commencing in 1959 for six successive councils and was shire president for two of them. It is now over 35 years since I left local government. I have always refrained from commenting on council affairs. However, it seems to me that anyone who cares about the future of the Shoalhaven should now support those who are endeavouring to do something about it. |

A son one mother can be proud of

16 May 12 | ON Saturday afternoon I drove our car to the park on Berry’s southern outskirts where I took our 16-year-old kelpie dog for a short walk. I should point out that I am an early octogenarian with a Disability Parking Permit but I had foolishly left our mobile phone and NRMA documentation at home. Horror struck when our car failed to start for the return trip.

13 May 12 | IT isn’t easy working out how Gareth Ward’s $20,000 2008 council election campaign was funded. Cr Ward declared that half the cash injection came from the Shoalhaven Young Liberals. However, this group merely formed a conduit of funding from a second layer of individual donors who are less easily identifiable. |
