Letters to the Editor

25 May 12 | A PROJECT I made in metalwork class (circa 1952) was a pair of outside callipers, an instrument used to measure the diameter of rods and pipe.  | CommentsComments (6)
25 May 12 | I CANNOT believe the stupidity of the NSW Liberal government.  | CommentsComments (1)
25 May 12 | IN relation to the letter ‘Play the ball not the man’ (May 16) and the comment by Mrs Gash: “....to see the job get done and that’s what I’m going to do”.
23 May 12 | IN response to W. Hancock’s letter to the editor (May 18) regarding the site of the proposed super clinic in Nowra, we want to reassure Shoalhaven residents that Illawarra Shoalhaven Medicare Local is working, together with the health authorities, endeavouring to locate the new super clinic within the Shoalhaven Hospital grounds, adjacent to the Cancer Care Centre.   | CommentsComments (3)
23 May 12 | I WAS a member of the council commencing in 1959 for six successive councils and was shire president for two of them. It is now over 35 years since I left local government. I have always refrained from commenting on council affairs. However, it seems to me that anyone who cares about the future of the Shoalhaven should now support those who are endeavouring to do something about it.   | CommentsComments (3)
21 May 12 | IF Nowra is the jewel in the Shoalhaven crown, then the Pigg headed court of King Paul the last has allowed it to become very tarnished.   | CommentsComments (22)
21 May 12 | FOR the St Vincent de Paul Society every week is volunteer week as without the 50,000 volunteers and members that turn up each day, week or when called, to help the poor and marginalised of Australia, we would just not exist.
21 May 12 | WE are under attack. This country is currently being invaded by a group of people who fundamentally do not hold with the characteristics of modern Australians.   | CommentsComments (76)
21 May 12 | RECENTLY, I received a card from Shelley Hancock wishing me a “very happy Mother’s Day”.   | CommentsComments (22)
18 May 12 | THERE have been many recent comments in your paper and within the community about the standard of council services.
18 May 12 | WHY is there no community consultation regarding the location of GP super clinic?  | CommentsComments (1)
18 May 12 | COUNCIL claims a number of statements made in my letters of April 16 and 27 are inaccurate and misleading (‘Tower claims are misleading’, SCR letters, May 9).  | CommentsComments (7)
16 May 12 | ON Saturday afternoon I drove our car to the park on Berry’s southern outskirts where I took our 16-year-old kelpie dog for a short walk. I should point out that I am an early octogenarian with a Disability Parking Permit but I had foolishly left our mobile phone and NRMA documentation at home. Horror struck when our car failed to start for the return trip.
16 May 12 | IT IS rather disappointing to read that Cr Fergusson could not resist the temptation to resort to playing the man rather than the ball (May 9, 2012).   | CommentsComments (8)
16 May 12 | AFTER four failed attempts to make my home ready for digital TV, the job is finally done except for a few answers to questions.
13 May 12 | FEDERAL Member for Gilmore, Joanna Gash thinks that we can use motivation to stop companies moving jobs offshore (SCR, May 7).  | CommentsComments (22)
13 May 12 | IN uncertain economic times, it is all the more important for locals to support local businesses, especially those providing employment for large numbers of local people.   | CommentsComments (3)
13 May 12 | IT isn’t easy working out how Gareth Ward’s $20,000 2008 council election campaign was funded. Cr Ward declared that half the cash injection came from the Shoalhaven Young Liberals. However, this group merely formed a conduit of funding from a second layer of individual donors who are less easily identifiable.   | CommentsComments (13)
11 May 12 | I NOTE a letter published in your newspaper on May 7 which made a number of comments about the failing NSW Workers Compensation Scheme.  | CommentsComments (27)
11 May 12 | WHY would anyone in their right mind commit the hours necessary to digest and understand the LEP – certainly the most important piece of legislation that Council will consider this decade – for $15,000 a year?  | CommentsComments (3)
