The HSBC Waratahs will play two trials against the Western Force at Shoalhaven Ricoh Rugby Park in Nowra on Thursday, February 10, just eight days before the Super Rugby season opener against the Melbourne Rebels.
Waratahs coach Chris Hickey and captain Phil Waugh launched the exciting venture at HMAS Albatross before touring the Shoalhaven Rugby Park complex.
Hickey said the Waratahs are keen to take the game to regional areas.
“At the end of the day we represent the state and the players feel very strongly about heading out into country areas, we aren’t just a Sydney team and a lot of the players come from country areas,” Hickey said.
A capacity crowd of 5000 is expected to the clash and tickets are on sale at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre.
