FORMER Shoalhaven Rowing Club member Peta Eddington has been selected in the Australian Women’s Quad to compete at the World Under 23 Rowing Championships in the Czech Republic in July.
Peta started her career with Shoalhaven Rowing Club and has represented the Shoalhaven at State and national regattas.
She started competitive rowing in 2005 under the guidance of coach Simon Leonard.
In 2007, Peta attended the Australian Institute of Sport for 10 months on a development scholarship.
On completion shea moved to Queensland to study and pursue her rowing career and continue her nursing degree.
She is currently studying and rowing at the University of Queensland Boat Club.
Peta has represented NSW on three occasions in Youth Cup crews and Queensland twice in Youth Cup crews and the Queensland senior women’s Queens Cup eight crew.
A fundraising dinner is being organised to help Peta with some of the costs towards the trip.
A trivia night and dinner is being held to help Peta meet the cost of her fares and accommodation for the trip to the Czech Republic.
The Trivia night will be staged on Saturday, June 27 from 6.30pm for 7pm start in the function room of the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s Club, in Junction Street, Nowra.
Dress is neat casual and the cost is $35 per person (includes two course meal, trivia night).
