State judo reps

NINE Shoalhaven Heads Bushido Judo Club members have confirmed their places in the NSW team for the national titles in June.

Bushido members won five medals at the third round of the State selection trials for the nationals.

Emma Bradley flew the local flag in the women’s under 78kg, claiming gold.

This was a great effort by Emma who went up a division and gave away a lot of weight.

Unfortunately Beau deCasanove did not play as he was training at the AIS with the shadow Olympic team, and there is no doubt Beau would have won the young men’s and men’s State titles.

Silver medals went to Amelia Potter (under 13 years under 45kg girls), while Sally Hunt moved up a division, giving away a lot of weight in the under 16 years under 70kg girls and fought hard, going close to beating the present Australian champion again.

Bronze medals were won by Tim Thompson (under 13 years under 35kg) and Tinka Easton (under 13 years under 40kg girls),

Sean Bradley (under 13 years under 55kg) fought off for bronze medal, but finished fourth, while Luka Easton (under 16 years under 70kg boys) also made it in to the top four in the State.
