Kangaroo Valley had to work hard to overcome a determined St Georges Basin White team in the men’s competition.
James McKeahnie led the white attack with two goals while Jono McMath slotted home an extra to total three but this was not enough to take the competition points from the Valley. Valley shared its attack with goals to Matt Harford, Kurt Burton, Mark Spence and Dan Beale.
In a spirited game McDonalds Bomaderry Bluejays Sky cemented their position as competition leaders against clubmates McDonalds Bomaderry Bluejays Navy.
Tim Pullen, Keiran Jones, David Jones and Alex Mackay were all able to rattle the cage while Grant Bannerman scored the only goal for Navy.
Navy’s defence from Ray Wilson, Mark Jennings, Jordan Butfield and Bob Herne ensured the score was not higher, with Sky winning 4-1.
The three competition leaders all secured their places at the top of the ladder in women’s hockey.
In the woman’s competition McDonalds Bomaderry Bluejays Sky put in a creditable performance against the impressive St Georges Basin White combination.
Vicki Hale was able to score for Navy.
Haidee Makin scored three and Kayla Askew a double, assisted by Emily Reichler with a single saw White secure a modest 6-1 win.
The Cristafi twins were ruthless in attack for St Georges Basin Red against City.
Ashleigh scored four goals while Samantha, Rachel Wilson and Tiffany Hill all added to the score.
Sonia Curley was the sole scorer for City who went down 7-1
Kate Bellamy and Kellie McIlwain both scored doubles to secure a win for McDonalds Bomaderry Bluejays Navy against Allsorts.
Caroline Leach was rewarded for all her on field work with the final goal for the Jays.
Congratulations to the under 17 Shoalhaven team, which will play in the grand final of the Illawarra Wednesday night competition this week.
The team will play Wollongong Uni at Unanderra under lights.
