CITY Hockey Club recorded four wins, a draw and five losses in last Saturday’s round of Shoalhaven Hockey.

Junior D grade gave the club a great start to the weekend defeating Bluejays 3-nil, Tamara Evans lead the way with two goals and Brett Dumpleton scored the other.
The Junior A grade upset Bluejays 1-nil, Andy Waller scoring the goal.
Todd Archer controlled play from the centre and was well supported by David Bolt and Rachael Wilkinson.
City were unable to field full teams in the Junior Girls and B grades.
The Girls were defeated by Bluejays 3-nil.
Rhyann Gardner had a great game in goals with Jayde Rosskelly and Tamara Evans also trying hard.
The Junior B grade team took the field with only eight players and acquitted themselves well to be defeated by Basin 4-1, Sam Gannel scored City’s goal.
Ian Dumpleton, Haydn Evans and Sam Gannel tried hard in a depleted team which never gave up trying.
City C grade was defeated by Kangaroo Valley 3-2, Michael Keany and Phillip Dumpleton scored City’s goals.
Josh Cromie and Kara Wakeford stood out for City.
In the Seniors, the Ladies A grade recorded a 2-nil win over Ulladulla to reverse the round one result.
Deryn Gardner and Rachael Wilkinson scored the goals.
The Ladies B grade were defeated 4-nil by Kangaroo Valley.
Pauline Collins in goals had an outstanding game, Colleen Kennedy and Melissa Devine also tried hard.
Men’s A grade recorded a 3-all draw with Bluejays.
The team lead 3-1 at half-time after playing some good team hockey in the first half and they then faded in the second half to escape with a draw. Mark Simmonds, Corey Tremlett and Duane Dawson scored the goals.
B grade Gold team had a strong 3-nil win over Kangaroo Valley.
Haydn Evans, Andy Waller and Corey Tremlett scored a goal each.
An understrength B grade Green team was defeated by 4-2 by Illaroo. Greg Harvey, Ted Cowled and Andy Waller stood out for City, Michael Anscombe scored both of City’s goals.
Unfortunately City suffered to major injuries during the B grade games. Dom Quarmby fell awkwardly during the Golds match and suffered severe shoulder damage, while in the Green’s game, Grahame Morris was hit in the forehead by the ball and had to have stitches inserted in a gash.
The Senior men are reminded that the two B grade teams play at Milton this Saturday while the A grade play at North Nowra.
To ensure that all teams have the correct numbers, all players are asked to contact Henry Wakeford (4423 0329) to confirm where they are playing. The B grade teams also have two games this Sunday at North Nowra, the first at 11.30 and then at 2.45.
