A QUIET week on the Shoalhaven Junior Hockey front with no scheduled matches due to the State Championships for the under 13 boys and girls.
Shoalhaven will field a team at the boys’ championships and will play its pool matches at Croome Road Complex at Albion Park.
The Integrity Real Estate under 13 squad includes Lachlan Butfield, William Clarke, Alasdair Harper, Callum Mackay, Nick Crawford, James Hayes, Gabby Lazaro, Rebekah Stewart, Tianah Wills (Bluejays), Jeffrey Lamont, Cameron McNab, Zac Sue (City), Aaron Gilmore and Dylan Sheedy (Bega).
The side will be coached by Greg Pullen and managed by Juanita Mackay, while Alexz Crawford is umpire.
The side will contest division three and be up against Orange, Penrith and Grafton 2 in its pool.
In the other pool is Bathurst, Newcastle 2, Sydney 3 and Tamworth 2.
The Integrity Real Estate 13s will open its campaign with a pool match against Penrith at 8am this morning, followed by a match against Grafton 2 at 1.50pm.
They will back up again tomorrow against Orange at 9am and if successful could force their way into the semi-finals in the afternoon.
As part of its preparation for the weekend, the team played in a carnival at Moorebank last Sunday winning three games each by 1-nil and two scoreless draws – undefeated without conceding a goal.
The boys (and girls) were awarded a runners-up medal (behind Canberra).
All looks good for this coming weekend playing at Albion Park.
Back on the local front and all senior games will be played at Bernie Regan Sporting Complex at North Nowra.
St Georges Basin White men has been struggling over the past few weeks and will need to be on their game when they play Kangaroo Valley.
The addition of Tony Wilson to the Valley attack has been positive and they are sure to be hard to beat.
The McDonalds Bomaderry Bluejays Sky and Navy will both be at full strength when they play at 2.45. The gallery of supporters are sure to expect a highly skillful game, with personal goals to be issued to specific players to increase the challenge.
In women’s games the three top teams each play one of the three bottom teams.
Competition leaders St Georges Basin White are expected to be too strong for McDonalds Bomaderry Bluejays Sky.
Basin Red could be tested by City if they can get their game plan in place, while the McDonalds Bomaderry Bluejays Navy’s midfield will dominate Allsorts.
