On a cool, overcast day at the Kangaroo Valley Resort, Davies unleashed a birdie on the 18th to take the silverware in a field of 57 lady professionals.

After spending the past six weeks overseas in the snow, the now 74-time international title winner managed a three under par 68 to lift the trophy in a classy performance.

In sunny morning conditions, all eyes were on visiting professional Davies, who showed plenty of composure under pressure to hold off two of Australia’s most promising young golfers in Oh and Smith.

Smith especially had been in scintillating form coming into the highly anticipated event after just last week shooting a course record eight-under par 65 at the Moss Vale Golf Club Ladies Classic.

For her efforts, Davies took home a purse of $3750, with the equal second placegetters snaring $2437.50.

Western Australian Bree Turnbull took our fourth outright with a one-under par 70.

It was an excellent event too for Nikki Garrett and her team, who won the ALPG Pro-Am despite team-mate Phil Scott suffering an injury on the fourth hole and having to play shorthanded for the remaining holes in the four-ball Ambrose event.

Helping contribute to the victory with a nett score of 19 under par 52 were amateur golfers Ray Michelson, Trevor Amery and Phil Scott.

Although they finished with a superior figure in the gross scoring, it was the handicap that let down the runner-up side of Katy Jarochowicz and her amateur playing partners Jeff Evans, Scott Cassiday and Brian Cotterill.

In third spot was the team with professional Bree Arthur and amateurs David Nagle, David Murphy and Alastair McDonough.
