Around 30 teams took part in the event which brought light winds, clear skies and a very cold morning start.
The lake fished well, for some others found the going rather tough with a couple of teams deciding to have a sleep in their boats rather than use any unnecessary energy on the day.
The leader board changed from the usual winning teams with the Stray Dogs crew (Johnny Nolan and young Andy Parry) taking the lead with a nice bag of bream weighing 3.64kg.
It was their first time back from a long break, but it has paid off for them earning a nice cash prize and also taking home the Culburra Bait and Tackle biggest bream cash prize.
The next round will be even further south on the lovely Clyde River on October 11; for further info drop into your local tackle shop and grab an entry form.

Some nice gemfish and cod were about over the weekend for those who like to bottom bounce the shelf, and with rewards like this it will be well worth the 10 minutes’ wait for the chance to bring some table fish like these back home.
In closer and with not as much time waiting for your gear to get to the bottom as those fishing the shelf, there have been some nice table fish getting around for those willing to spend the time.
Snapper, leatherjacket and flathead all played a role in the weekend’s fishing antics.
Fish around the 30 to 40-metre mark for your best results.
Off the beaches and the rocks, salmon and drummer have been the calls with a nice run of salmon out of the local beaches and some nice drummer starting to show, although further south is the place to be with better numbers of both species seeming to be around.
Well that about wraps it up for this week; for further info email us here culburrabait@people.net.au or 4472087 and I’ll see you on the water.
Cheers, Scotty
