Disappointing forfeits in Nowra touch last week

01 Feb, 2010 08:56 AM
IT was disappointing to see a couple of forfeits last week in the Nowra-Shoalhaven Touch Men’s Competition after a previous general consensus with teams about playing on Australia Day.

Thank you to the teams that were present and especially to the Clifton and Co Accounting team who were faced with a forfeit at the grounds but still stayed and had a run for the full period.

A special thanks to the referees who gave up their leisure time to officiate.

The Mixed Competition is becoming interesting now that teams have settled into grades for the countdown to the finals?

This week the second round of the new gradings starts where teams will have a second chance at the teams from round one to see if they can turn results around.

Some teams appear to have been struggling for numbers after the festive break,

Let’s hope all teams have their full complements back on deck so results are a truer indication in the lead up to the finals.

All teams are advised that all players in their teams must have played a minimum of five games throughout the season to be eligible to play in the finals series.

Winter comp - The 2010 Winter Mixed Competition is not that far away, scheduled to start in early April!

Start organising your team now as information packs and registration forms are now becoming available.

Competition is on Monday nights at Lyrebird Sports Park.

Keep an eye on the website www.nowratouch.com.au for further details.

Men’s Competition Notice - The Michelles Patisserie 2 team forfeited at the grounds last week and therefore incur a $30 fine, which must be paid prior to playing this week.

All team delegates are asked to meet with Dave Whatman prior to the start of games this week.

Return of association perpetual trophies - Outstanding summer perpetual trophies from the 2008/2009 season should be returned to the association.

If you have a trophy at home or with your sponsor from last year, please ensure it is delivered to the grounds ASAP and handed in at the canteen.

Publicity officer required for association - Nowra Touch Association does not currently have a publicity officer, the role has been looked after by the secretary, however due to work and study commitments can no longer fulfill this role.

Support is given to the publicity officer from the committee, so it is not a role that you are left to do on your own.

If any player is interested in undertaking this role, please contact the secretary, Razz Morgan, either at the touch canteen or Nowra Touch Hotline 44488810 for further information.
