CHIPS TO FLY - Action aplenty at Berry Show

03 Feb, 2012 08:17 AM
THE 124th annual Berry Show gets under way this weekend with a hive of sporting activities to keep fans enthralled.

All the favourites will be featured including the woodchopping, show-jumping and the rough and tumble of the rodeo.

The woodchop program in particular, which starts today at 5pm, and continues tomorrow, will be full of action.

All the popular events will be staged – the standing block, underhand, butcher’s block, tree felling and sawing.

The highlights include the 300mm Australian Underhand Champion-ship which carries $1500 prizemoney to the winner – there is also a host of memorial events throughout the program including the Jim Harris Memorial NSW Single Handed Sawing Championship.

• Full details on all the Berry Show action see page 41.
