The 17-year-old opening batsman will get his chance in two formats of the game, to show his versatility.
He will have a two-day game at Old Kings Oval, Parramatta starting on Monday, October 4 at 10am.
His second opportunity will come in a Twenty20 fixture on Thursday morning, October 7 at a venue to be announced.
A second Southern Zone player, Kerrod White will also play in these matches.
With three Twenty20 matches along with a 50-over game and the two-dayer, the state selectors will be looking at many contenders for the NSW under 19 team.
Gray spent 10 years in Shoalhaven junior cricket, firstly with Berry-Shoalhaven Heads before completing his time with Bomaderry.
While in five different age groups, he won the association batting average and the aggregate trophy, and three times had an average of more than 100.
A pinnacle came in 2007-08 when he received the Bob and Sandra Webster Cup for being named Junior Cricketer of the Year.
A junior representative player from 2003-04, he played 23 matches in Southern Zone competitions, scoring 646 runs.
Solid performances in these matches led to him representing Southern Zone in the under 14, 16 and 17 age groups.
Last summer he joined South Coast club Oak Flats, played in the winning Jeffrey Cup (under 20) team, and top-scored in the Burns Cup (open) final.
He was Southern Zone’s player of the under 17 carnival, and also played for the zone in the Colts’ Carnival.
After training hard in the off-season, Gray has joined Bankstown in the Sydney grade competition and will start in third grade.
