Graham Davidson took his score to 69 with five boundaries, before he was trapped lbw by Justin Ganderton.
From the first ball of his next over Ganderton clean bowled Norths skipper Adam Jackson whose 12 runs had come in boundaries.
This gave Ganderton figures of 3/30 from 13.1 overs.
Ex-Servicemen opened with Michael Chambers and Alex Butler, and they provided a solid start in reaching 24 in the 20th over.
Chambers had played well for 15 when he edged Jackson to keeper Lachlan Lamont.
George Dickie hit one boundary in reaching 10, but then edged spinner Hugh Gillen to Nick McDonald at slip.
Warren Ganderton joined Butler, and they took the total to 74 with a stand of 26.
Butler had reached 29 with two boundaries when Gillen had him caught by Brady Warren in the gully.
Skipper Daniel Gleeson scored only seven before he was bowled by Gillen who was troubling all batsmen.
Ganderton was given strong support by Chris Brunton as they added 44 from 16 overs for the fifth wicket.
Ganderton had made top score of 38 when he went lbw to Nigel Rowan.
Justin Ganderton hit one six in 10, but in attempting another, he was caught by Alexander Peters at long-off, from the bowling of Matt Hickmott.
Scott Fagerlund impressed in a seventh wicket stand of 48 with Brunton.
He was out in the last over for 28 with two boundaries, bowled by Peters.
Brunton was unbeaten on 35 in the total of 7/190.
Gillen was the pick of the bowlers with 3/57 from 20 overs.
