Unwelcome drunk was subdued with capsicum spray

06 Feb, 2012 07:59 AM
A SANCTUARY Point man who turned violent after he was told to leave the Bridge Tavern has been given a seven-month suspended sentence.

In Nowra Local Court, Shane John Acton, 39, of Warrego Drive was also fined $200 for trying to return to the pub and ordered to perform 50 hours community service for behaving in an offensive manner in a public place.

Acton was drinking at the Bridge Tavern on September 9 last year when the licensee had him removed for being drunk.

A security officer told him he was not allowed back in for six hours, but 10 minutes later Acton was at the front door arguing with security.

After they refused to let him in, Acton began fighting with a group of people in the street.

The police were called and as they arrived, Acton formed his hand into a pistol shape and threatened to shoot.

An officer put his hand on Acton’s shoulder who then turned and pushed him in the chest.

After some struggling and using capsicum spray, the officers eventually got Acton into a police vehicle where he kicked an officer in the neck.

Just like cane toads, they are on the move.

These unwanted pesky critters, cause problems where ever they go.

The Shoalhaven must have shares in the capsicum spray company,it certainly gets a workout here.

The Bridge Tavern should take start staging poetry reading and classical music nights, that would calm the mood of the angry beasts.!!

Just a thought.

Now if this had happened in Sanctuary Point it would be regarded as normal behaviour.

No Paul it wouldn't be counted as "Normal Behaviour" if it happened in Sanctuary Pt. ? We don't have a Pub so perhaps that's why he went to Nowra? Possibly banned in The Cooee, The Huskisson and our own Country Club? Let's face it? I'm sure many of us have never been thrown out of licenced premises? Now Carried out a few times perhaps? LOL We never had that problem in The Andrew did we Cumbo? Classical music worked on us ok! :)

Maybe he wanted some capsicum spray for his battered fish or his chicken schnitzel

We had a Callala Bay man last week who was caught driving very drunk and who hadn`t realised he`d soiled his pants. Well, Paul, is this normal behaviour in Callala Bay?

Fair comment nowraresident! Let's remember that The Bridge Tavern and The Postmans Tavern are in the second highest category for troublesome venues in NSW and thus already have enough rowdy people without needing to import them from down here? Imagine having those two places just 2-300 metres apart! With The Federal Members office bang in between riding shotgun! Perhaps that's why Jo is not standing again? LOL
