Mayoral candidates urge voters to choose regime change

IN an unprecedented move, seven mayoral candidates have shown rare unity to call on the Shoalhaven electorate to depose the current regime at Saturday’s election.

The call came during a day of drama in which the Mayoress Robyn Watson was accused of intimidating and abusing a campaign volunteer from the rival Shoalhaven Action Campaign at the pre-poll booth at Bomaderry.

“We are recommending people do not send any preferences to or vote for Greg Watson or the Shoalhaven Independents Group in the mayoral election on Saturday,” they said in a joint communique issued at lunchtime yesterday.

“We seven believe Shoalhaven City Council needs new leadership.”
