Man dies at Sanctuary Point

09 Feb, 2012 01:16 PM
A YOUNG man has died after his car hit a tree in Sanctuary Point this afternoon.

Paramedics rushed to Larmer Avenue about 1.45pm after reports a car had struck a tree.

They found the car’s only occupant, a man in his 20s, trapped in the wreckage of the vehicle.

He was in cardiac arrest and not breathing when paramedics arrived.

He was revived briefly but died about 2.05pm.

A rescue helicopter was scrambled but has now been called off.

Motorists are advised to avoid Larmer Avenue, with The Wool Road able to be used as an alternative route.
