Jail for assaulting partner

04 Nov, 2009 07:17 AM
AN Ulladulla man has been sentenced to seven months’ jail for assaulting his partner.

In Nowra Local Court last week he pleaded guilty to two charges of assault and one of intimidation.

The man, who has a history of domestic violence, was in a six-year relationship and has two children.

These two latest assaults happened over two days the preceding week.

The first began when the man woke his partner and asked her to make him a coffee.

When she refused, saying she didn’t feel well, he became abusive and slapped her across the face.

Two days later he punched her in the head and threatened her and her parents’ lives.

When questioned by police, the man admitted to losing his temper.

He will serve a four-month non parole period.
