Highway drama yesterday morning

TRAFFIC chaos was the result when a car ran into a light pole causing the closure of both lanes of the Princes Highway during peak hour yesterday morning.

A 41-year-old man from Cambewarra was injured when his red sports car crashed into a metal light pole and then a sign after it mounted the grass verge on the highway near North Street.

Shortly after, a 44-year old Bomaderry man, who had stopped his Kia Rio at the scene to assist got a shock when the metal light pole collapsed onto his car.

Traffic from the bridge was diverted down Bridge Road while Integral Energy worked to remove the damaged light pole.

Police are investigating and would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information about a white or silver small sedan on the road at same time.
