Bus jackknifes on Rockhill Rd

04 Nov, 2009 08:12 AM
A FAMILY adventure has had a frightening interruption on a steep hill at North Nowra.

Tracy and Darren Visco are taking their three children on a trip around Australia, and were staying at the Ski Park beside the Shoalhaven River.

However as they left on Tuesday morning, the bus they had converted into a mobile home struggled with the steep incline on Rockhill Road.

As Mr Visco struggled to keep the bus on the narrow road, a trailer the bus was towing, carrying a car and boat, jackknifed.

“It was pretty scary,” Ms Visco said.

She said the bus lost its brakes after it stalled.

Emergency crews called in specialist equipment to help move the bus.
